His Side | Her Side

There are three sides to every story – His, Hers and the Truth!

Have you ever wondered why movie prices have gotten so outrageous? Or CDs? Or even books?!
I have. Especially after a friend of mine asked me to come over and watch Avatar at his house – WHILE IT WAS STILL IN THEATERS!

So I did some research and I came accross some AWESOME information.

    Check it out here Squidoo

    You make me smile.
A smile that is genuine and full of love.
    You make me laugh.
A laugh that grows wiser, deeper, and truer as the years pass.
You comfort me when I am sad.
You know my heart, what I need, what I want—and what I can’t live without.
Throughout the years you have been my rock.
You have always known what to say – how to say it – and when to say nothing at all.
There is so much I could say to you… I don’t even know where to begin.
But from the start, I always knew it would forever be the two of us against the world.
I just didn’t know the world…would sometimes be so cruel.
Yet, we have stood…together…and taken on all that life has thrown us. Head on.
I am not sure what the future holds. Where it will take us. Where it will not.
But I know, as long as you are by my side, we can handle whatever does – or does not – come our way.
All I can really say is, “Thank You.”
Thank You for being a great man.
Thank You for being a kind man.
Thank You for being an honest man.
Thank You for being a true man.
Thank You for being an amazing father.
Thank You for everything you do for me. Every day. I see it all – even though sometimes it seems as if I don’t.
But most of all…Thank You for being my husband. For all these years.
I honor you. I cherish you. I love you.
Here’s to the next 12 years…and many, many, more.
    Always and Forever…
    Kim

    An autumn afternoon
    Daylight holding back the moon
I stumbled in without a care
Only to find a gem so rare
    Stunning eyes did captivate me
    With charm, invigorate me
One small moment in your attention
Your mind unsure of my intention
    Dismissal not rejection
    Infatuation turned infection
The fever ate me up inside
With the desire to make you mine
And I would find no sense of rest
Until that moment you said ‘yes’
    Standing tall, side by side
We’ve bet it all, and let it ride
We’ve risen high above the stars
We’ve fallen hard and healed the scars
Through it all you’ve been right here
And give me strength to fight the fear
Be it one, or twelve or a hundred score
    I will love you… forevermore.

    Marketing Meeting on the Beach

. We had a blast and a lot of good talk!

Just a quick note to crow like a rooster :-) . My youngest son, Grayson, is almost eight, decided he wanted his own blog this morning. So, I got home from work today and he says “Dad, go to http://kidsbaseballlife.blogspot.com/ and check out my new blog”.
    Awesome!
Now you can all follow him here!

This is too good to keep to myself.
So @HerSide calls me from my son’s baseball tournament down in Panama City. She’s having problems tethering her laptop and getting it to recognize the cell phone. So I call Verizon and explain what’s going on.
Tech: “So you don’t have the phone with you
@HisSide: “No, @HerSide has it, in the middle of nowhere, unable to connect to the internet”
Tech: “So her phone won’t connect to the internet”
@HisSide: “No, her phone won’t tether to her laptop, and connect IT to the internet”
Tech: “Well, we can’t begin to troubleshoot without the phone there
@HisSide: “But she can’t call you ON THE PHONE and troubleshoot”
Tech: “Correct. She will have to call from another number”
@HisSide: “Let me get this straight. She’s in the middle of nowhere, Her phone won’t act as a modem. You can’t talk to me about it cause I have to have the phone here. You can talk to her about it, cause she has the phone with her. However, she can’t call you on the phone because you will only be able to troubleshoot the problem if she is off the phone…but calling you!?!??!”
Tech: “correct. She will need to call from another number
    WTF?!?!?!
Oh, here’s another one that’s just as good.
We had this movie plan at a local (Fort Walton area) Video rental place. It was like $20/month. We stopped using the plan, and were about to move to Niceville. So we called to cancel it. They wouldn’t cancel it over the phone.
So we moved. Closed that particular bank account. And somehow they find us, and turn the declined transaction over to a collection agency.
So I go in to the Video place, while in Fort Walton, and ask the guy about it.
So, If I don’t live here anymore, and the bank account that was being used for billing no longer exists, that’s not a good enough reason to cancel the account over the phone?”
No, you have to come in person to cancel it
“well, that’s rather convenient to your clients, isn’t it!”
    It’s in the agreement
And this one always cracks me up….
I drive through Whataburger, every weekday, and order a Large UN-sweet tea, with two sweeteners.
At least Once a week I get a Large SWEET tea, don’t taste it before I put the sweeteners in, and then I have SWEET tea on steroids!
You would think the “with 2 sweeteners” part would be a hint….apparently not.

I can’t believe it. I finally got it done. I’ve converted a project I was working on, into a very possible income stream!
Funny story. I was upset with a client I had done some custom software for and turned to @HerSide saying “I’ll just give him (the Client) his money back and sell the software to Company X for three times as much!” (in an incredibly defiant and sarcastic way).
And we both stopped dead in our tracks. Looked like two dear in headlights, facing each other. As if our telepathy showed each of us pushing the ca$h button on an ATM. “Why didn’t I think of that before?!?!?!
Well, now I’ve remodeled the software. Repackage it. Modularized it. It’s a better version than my original prototype – does exactly what was being requested and performs its task seamlessly.

Now I just need a partner to get it into the hands of those companies that don’t realize how much they need it – at least not until they see it.

Signing of for a couple hours to watch a Little League All-Stars game. Be back later!

    Oooops!

That’s usually not a good thing to hear a Software Engineer say (or a surgeon, sharpshooter, any profession I guess). But I was doing some site maintenance/cleanup (since I’ve been neglecting @HisSide | @HerSide for a while) and I accidentally deleted a post from January 9, 2009. Wasn’t much to it really, just me complaining about never having worked with PHP and/or WordPress before -blah blah blah.

On a good note: Found a couple of couples that are interested in going to the Counting Crows show at the Wharf in August, and the seed was planted for a Biloxi trip the weekend before the show – WOOHOO!

    Until next time – peace!
